    One of the greatest aspects of what we do is to bring a client up to their full marketing potential. Particularly when the excellence of their product or service warrants such an upgrade. Case and point: John L Scott Vashon. We were recently hired to help them with their brand identity, social media, and a targeted marketing plan.
    .
    The first step was to create a new brand. We did this by coming up with and integrating a tagline into their corporate-guideline mandated John L. Scott logo. The tagline: Best People. Best Results. We also began to brand a new way of referring to the office: JLS Vashon.
    .
    Second objective was to optimize their print advertising. John L. Scott has the good fortune of having secured the back page of the local newspaper, a full color page. We redesigned the ad to create a stronger presence: clean lines, strong header and footer to anchor the page, introduction of a Community Chalkboard, clean banners, a new look for the Open House section. They were able to extend their ad space to the inside-back page so the new branding/layout created consistency between the two separate pages of listings.

    Social media is increasingly playing a powerful role in the real estate market and, like so many professionals, JLS Vashon was too busy doing business to spend time growing their web presence. As part of redesigning their print advertising, we drove traffic to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with the promise of seeing listings first, within minutes of coming onto the market.

    We created a blog, www.jlsvashon.com, where all new listings are posted. The blog links to the corporate page. Additionally, each time a listing comes on the market it is posted on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. But, JLS Vashon’s social media isn’t all about self-promotion. We help manage their pages by posting “fun” content about their staff, the Island, real estate news at large. This is key to gaining and retaining followers.

    Lken-posterastly, we urged JLS Vashon President, Ken Zaglin, to further his decades of community service on Vashon to run for Unofficial Mayor of Vashon fundraising for Vashon Schools Foundation. Being the great sport he is, he went for it! We’ll keep you updated on his Mayoral run: not only a great way to raise funds for an Island non-profit, but also to bring awareness to the community of the good works that JLS Vashon contributes above and beyond.
